bed fill tank

putting in a bed fill tank and trying to figure out if the wood bed in a fleetside is the same central layout as the layout for the stepside. got a tank from boyds and looks like the tank fill neck would have lined up better if it were 2 inches to the left. may down the road try and get a fleet bed so dont want to go moving the fill neck to have to do it again.

Not sure what your trying to avoid. The two wood bed floors are different widths and very doubtful your not going to need additional boards and new strips when you swap beds. I think GMC Pauls has some bed information on his website as far as differences in board widths between the two.

Late 1960 to 1972 Stepside - 8 Boards
3 1/8" 7 7/16" 7 7/16" 5 7/16" 5 7/16" 7 7/16" 7 7/16" 3 1/8"

Late 1960 to 1972 Fleetside - 12 Boards
2- 6 3/8"* 7 7/16 7 7/16 7 7/16 5 7/16 5 7/16 7 7/16 7 7/16 7 7/16 2- 6 3/8"*

So form GMC Pauls site they say the center 3 boards out are all the same then you lose the last set on the step and get 2 more so shouldn't matter on placement of door.
