Cheating o2 sensors is it possible?

I have a 2007 Avalanche on which I have a baffled glasspack no cats and no resonator. What I am wondering is if there is a way to cheat the o2 sensors so my engine light don't come on, I don't care if it does but my factory command start don't work when it's on. Any help would be much appreciated.:chevy:

I don't think that's a good idea the O2 sensors are there to maintain the A/F ratio.

Getting a tune and turning the O2 check light off but still keeping the O2 doing it job is better approach.

You can have 02's tuned out of the computuer (front or rear) and you can also get 02 simulators. I'm not sure what the impact on driveability is, but pretty sure you need at least the front 02's

I would definately keep the front ones. The back ones could go but it all depends on what you want. I know that you can get O2 simulators like mentioned above, but it's still not the same.

you dont need the back O2s but you need the front ones for sure. I had some O2 simulators on my 98 Trans am. Then I ended up having the car dyno tuned and my tuner deleted the rear ones. I sold the sims to a guy tuning his own car.

Last I heard they dont make O2 simulators anymore. but I really dont know that for sure.
When I ran the simulators never really had a problem with them making my car run bad. Sometimes it would throw a code so I just unplug and plug them back and the code would go away.

The only company that I knew of making the simulators was Casper Electronics (or something along those lines) but they no longer make them.

I don'y know if this works or not I haven't installed it yet. My daughters eclipse is running a free flow exshaust and it keeps the engine light on all the time. I got this from a member of the eclipse forum. Take the o2 senor out buy the spark plug non foulers and drill one of them out. If you have room use both of them and screw the o2 into the one you drill out. Then reinstall. Like I said I have no idea if it works or not.

That might work, I had an 02 Z72 that I used for boggin and put straight pipe off the manifolds, the front o2's I put back but the back ones I tystrapped to the frame and that worked, I don't think the rear do much than tell the computer if to much carbon is getting past the cats so if the are outside the exhausts path all should be good.

The o2 has not thrown the code up now for 2 days of driving. I guess it worked. ;)

3 days of driving it and no codes as of yet!!!!! $300.00 saved for $3.00.;):metal::chevy:

Wow, this is a good thread because, I plan on pulling my cat of my 98 van. was wondering how i was going to get around those O2 sensors.

Just have the rear O2s removed from the PCM.
Keep the fronts so MPGs will be decent. if you remove the fronts too you will need to get the vehicle to stay in Open Loop.

IF you want the Rear O2s deleted (and some other smaller things) I can do that via mail order for $165 shipped back to you if you ship me the PCM, if you want other 'stuff' done let me know, we can work out something.

Re: Cheating o2 sensors is it possible?

I have since tried the anti foulers light came on, tried covering ends of o2's with caps light came on tried unpluging them light came on and then tried strapping them to the frame and light still came on so it looks like it's going to be a programmer. I want to lose the speed limiter anyways.

try packing the foulers with steel wool thats what the hemi truck guys do and it seems to work for them.
