noisy compressor

I was wanting to build a insulated box around my air compressor as is loud.Any suggestions,I don,t want it to overheat or starve it for air.Is just a little 4 hp.type and I can,t move it as is the only plug in that won,t set off the breakers

cdowns is correct. Do not build a box for it, it will overheat. We have one of those and it will run you out of the shop. Sitting them on a rubber mat helps,,,, some, but not too much. A belt driven compressor is the way to go..

Agreed, while my oil-less did last a long time, I wish it would have died sooner. It absolutely hate listening to those things. many times i would use a breaker bar and a lot of cussing before I'd turn on the oil less and break out the impact.

Build a lean too outside for if you can.
