90 'burb Radio replacement

So while I have to wait to get my 'burb on the road (long story, but I now hate the DMV more than ever), I figured I would work on my Radio. It has the stock Cassete-AM/FM radio in it now. The tuning knob is not working, so I want to replace it. Question is What fits? Do any of the larger radios fit in the opening with out much modification? I have also thought about a newer GM radio, but those just look too big... Any good sources for 3.5" speakers for the dash?

I have also thought about a newer GM radio, but those just look too big...And way too spendy for the quality. Trust me I've sent out more than 400 of them for repairs this last year alone. (I work a a G.M. Dealership) Any good sources for 3.5" speakers for the dash? Not that I'm aware of. but you can easily fit 4" speakers in the dash with no problems what-so-ever.

Or you can do what I did for my double din kenwood....

Nice mod, but it looks like the rear view mirror will be lost with that mod, and NYS inspection will not like that. Maybe I can do the same thing but on the dash... It is already cracked... hmmm

If you dont want want to use a 1.5 din mounting bracket you can always just swap your dash bezel for an truck bezel and cut it out for a single din radio. Cheap and easy

It does drop down low enough to block that tiny factory rearview mirror that was on the windshield. But I found a way around that with a rear view camera mounted just inside the rear tailgate window (No barn doors on mine) and a 15" monitor mounted to the dash that's going to get a homemade custom center console built up for it this next year.

Something else you could do is a custom install in the center of the dash right where the 3rd vent is at. I've seen that done before as well.
