Charley's Drop Shop in Portland, Oregon has one. Charley also converted his stepside to Left-hand drive! It's a very nice truck and he does clean work. Here is a link to his website: http://dropitnow.net/

i like the looks with the top off but havent seen a top that looks right yet. interesting bed in that pic.

smokekiki 03-20-2003 02:13 PM

As long as it looks good with the top off,I wouldn't care what it looks like with it on.The top on my blazer is off 90% of the time.

hmmm slammed, shaved, long bed, convertible could be cool, I researched this, there aren't any kits available anymore and not too long ago someone had made the comment that there's leaked like a sieve whenever it rained, could you imagine a hardtop convertible that would fit under your tonneau? that pic is cool, I saw a space shuttle like that once;)

ZOOMY 03-21-2003 12:52 AM

Looks to me like he converted it to right hand drive.

i've always wanted one of thoses dakota convertables. they looked kinda cool. i'm a bit strange about dakota's tho....

bouncytruck 03-21-2003 12:46 PM

All the mini-truckers were cutting the tops off in the 80's... add a bed that twirls, some hopping suspension and subwoofers filling the bed and you can re-live the 80's.

There is a guy with a Jeep Comanche pickup convertible that drives around my town. I talked to the guy once, he convertible-ized it so he could launch hang gliders from the bed. He doesn't have a top of any sort, though, so I guess if it rains he uses the glider to keep the rain off.

I've always thought the convertibles that old VW's had (ragtop?)would be cool on our trucks.

Charley's truck was stolen from him about 6 months ago, right out from under him one day when he was working in his shop. So if you see this driving around, call the police, although it's probably in another country by now.
