Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

Does anyone have an email address for this place? I tried calling many times and either it's busy or I get put on hold forever.

Because I don't use credit cards, I had to mail my order in and I sent a check. It was a large order, over $1,200 so they should be taking that serious don't ya think? That was at the end of March and my bank statement shows that check was never cashed.

I know they got my order because they called me to say 2 items would cost more to ship which I straightened out with them. That's the last I heard from them and still no parts.

They have good prices but it's not worth all this aggravation. This will probably be my last order to them.

I just don't understand why they don't have an email. It's so much simpler for both the customer and them. I can write when I have the time and they can reply when they have the time. Not being a slave to the phone all day long! Someone needs to tell them about the 21st century's invention called email, maybe they will like it.

Sorry for the vent. :sumo:

Ah yes, Classic Chevy parts is where I should have gone. I usually shop with them but the prices were so much better with this place I thought I'd give them a try. I'm regretting that now. :waah:

If they haven't cashed the check, then call your bank and put a stop payment on it. Shouldn't cost you too much, then spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Yep. And if they call you to inquire about it, just say "What, you didn't get my email?"

Just curious, why and how can you not use a CC in 2011?

In my opinion they have the worst customer service ever first off they put you on hold all the time and for a long time then when they do get to you they ask to call you back WTF? Parts took for ever to get here too and they are only in Southern Cali...

Yeah, and judging by the way it puts people in debt, I'd say not a very good one. Not for me.

BTW, my having a credit card or not having one is not your business anyway is it? How about keeping with the topic, especially for a "moderator".

I agree, call them and tell them you are stopping the check. Life is to short to deal with dead beats.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

I have used Classic Parts for over 20 years, never have I had any issues, other than maybe back ordered stuff, but they have always communicated with me. I used to just send in my order, they would call me to confirm receipt and tell me when my order would ship and if anything was backordered. great folks.

I agree with the CC thing, they get too many people in too much trouble too fast.

although I do have one, it is only for emergencies/ out of town emergencies.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

I placed an order with them for $380 back on 4/8. I called yesterday the 18th because I still hadn't seen it. They looked up my order, tracked it, and told me it will be at my house on 4/20, so we'll see. I called in my order, and got right through, then when I checked on it on Monday, I got right through again.

Sorry for your hassle!! They have been good to me so far but this is my first order, so don't have a history to look back on. It did take forever to get the parts here though. They are only 15 hours from me, yet it is taking 12 days to get here.

Forget credit cards, have you ever heard of a debit card? Same thing as a checkbook, comes right out of your checking account. I find it ironic that you rant about them not having email, say they should join the 21st century...when you are still writing checks. Credit cards don't put people in debt; people put themselves in debt. You made it everybodys business as soon as you posted it. When you make a negative post about a vendor, don't assume everyone is going to agree with you. I am very much on topic here. If you had made the payment electronically, you would probably have your order by now.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

Nothing at all wrong with credit cards. And if you do your homework you will find that credit cards are actually safer, in regards to theft / identity theft, than a debit card or checks. The greatest risk with a debit cards and Checks is the fact that you open your checking account to the world. Interesting article here: Credit vs. Debit

Just pay off the credit card every month, don't run a balance and don't use any credit cards that charge fees. It's all about discipline. You can actually make money off of them by earning points for other purchases. Many people though think credit cards are free money.... that boat will never leave port.

Not preaching here guys, just an old fart trying to help.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

Yeah I've heard of debit cards, I have one. It has a $300 dollar limit, ever hear of that? Wouldn't work too well with a $1,200 dollar order would it?

This thread was not about credit cards so it's NOT the topic. If I choose not to use credit cards, it's certainly no business of yours and last time I checked, it's not a crime to write a check. If it was would they still have order forms in their catalog? Just a horrible company, that's the point of this thread.

I'm very glad I didn't make the payment electronically, I want nothing more to do with that lousy company and I hope they did lose my check. I'll be sending my next check to a respectable business.

Why are you so angry? I mentioned CC because it is easier to get your money back, which would solve some of your problems with the company.

I gave you a reason your order had not been processed. That IS relative and IS on topic, whether you think so or not.
Sounds like you have a plan now Bob, good luck! I suggest a board vendor like Classicheartbeat (Wes) or GMC Paul.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

Well maybe I'm angry because I find myself having to defend myself over the fact that I don't like credit cards. I know I'm not alone in that, plenty of us out there. I believe in only buying what I can afford. Credit cards were not the point of this thread or the cause of the problem anyway.

In this case, I'm actually glad I didn't use a CC. The last thing I would want is to give this place my number.

I didn't post this thread to get into a pissing match but don't like when someone tries to make a fool out of me like ledd zepps first reply where he uses some of my words to mock me.

I was only looking for an email address which I found on my own after this post. It did no good of course because this company doesn't use email and the one they have buried on their website bounces, very professional company. I also am guilty of venting about my experience of which I am VERY ANGRY but think it does help others. Who knows, maybe it will save a few fellow members some headaches.

Hope that clears up the mystery.

Re: Truck and car shop ARGH!!!

Bob, my debit card has a $600 limit but I can call my bank and increase that to any amount I want for a day. I can increase it permanently, but would rather increase it when needed as I only purchase really expensive things once or twice a year. Maybe something to try??

Hang in there Bob.... we are all pulling for you!

And thanks for letting us know about this.

Thanks guys.

I'll have to look into increasing the limit with my bank. Worth a try. :chevy:
