Replacing high beams with regular lights? (GMC)
I have a GMC and I really like the look when I have all four lights going. Is it possibly to just plug in some regular headlights where the high beams go? The power source shouldn't be higher right? Just the bulb?
Thank you in advance, Kirkland Posted via Mobile Device |

Voltage to the bulbs should be the same, just different wattage on the bulbs.
Check your local laws though about running 4 lights at once, as it may be considered high beam even though only using low beam bulbsx4. |

I don't understand your question. If you want to plug dual-filament (high/low) lamps into your high beam (inner) positions in order to have all four lit up on low beam also, then no, it's not a plug-n-play. You'd need to run a third wire for low beam, and you'll also need new 3-prong connectors. The existing high beams use a 2-prong connector -- ground and high-beam 12vdc. And as posted above, there may be legal issues running four low-beams at once.

i'd bet you would get a ticket for 4headlights on even if you claim they are lobeanms
especially from what i hear of calafrornication laws |

Ticket or not, you'd get flashed a lot and probably draw some police attention.
A little off-topic - I remember in the movie Mother, Jugs, and Speed (not a very good movie, by the way) the ambulance was customized with, among other things, dual four-beam rectangular headlights. |

The bulbs dont fit in the buckets but a little masage could make them fit.

not local law, DOT regulations. It's illegal, but doable.

How can they enforce a law like that when late-model vehicles come from factory with multiple light set-ups? Are driving lights illegal?
