low hanging exhaust???
1 Attachment(s)
Does this mid-section of the exhaust look like it's hanging too low? I don't know what's normal, but it looks a little exposed to me. The end of the exhaust is also right up against the bottom of the rear fender and angled slightly up. That doesn't look quite right either.
TIA. |
Re: low hanging exhaust???
i've always just loosen things up and by pushin here and there and using good hanger system then retightened ,adjusted for alot better fit than that

Thanks KEL.
I'm going to try fiddling with the hangers and see if I can get it raised up some. |

Re: low hanging exhaust???
Saddly, they all look like that, & mine did too until last week when I did the typical conversion where you drill two 4" holes in the trailing-arm cross member, weld some tubing in there & route the exhaust through it.

Re: low hanging exhaust???
the people i've seen that put exhaust thru the crossmembers have also boxed them so as to strengthen them so that they dont fail// not just drilled big holes and weakened the crossmember

Here is the exhaust on my 69 gmc, the system is routed and tucked up between the frame rails and the body for a cleaner look from the side.
