long day for sure

woke up this mornin with a flat tire on my blazer. well that pretty much opened a can of "do work." i fixed that then decided i would install the c-notch that has been sitting in my garage for almost a month now.

holy crap what a pain in the .....

almost 7 hours of work and i only have the passenger side done. plus theres about 5 nuts and lock washers down in the frame that i dropped.:waah:

all in all though solid day workin on the truck

Nice work! On to the next side!! Wish my 96 had rear disc brakes.

only 2 things that suck about discs. first its pretty hard to get the tires goin on a nice brake stand. corse a line lock would fix that. and second. the caliper is really really close to that notch. it actually makes me really nervous

Can you post close up pictures.
Hey want to swap rear ends? :metal:

I need more stopping power on my Jimmy. I haul a nice popup camper, trailer with supplys for sandcastle building competition and trailers for local stuff.

yeah ill take a couple tommorrow when there is still light. as far as the rear end swap goes that might have happened 3 years ago. this one has alittle money in it. i swapped the gears and put in a detroit truetrac. its one of my favorite mods.

you know i thought all jimmy/blazers had discs in the back... it does have dual piston calipers in the front right?

My 96 is a hybrid. It has GM Jimmy features yet it's plain too. It has daylight driving lights, sealed beam headlights, auto off dome light after you get out, pull the outter door latch and the lights comes on, towing light harness, drum rear brakes, single piston calipers (all 98 and later got them), no power windows, no power locks, no power unlock latch for the rear door, and no dash speakers. I do plan to install dual piston calipers soon. I just need get the parts in El Paso (680 miles away).

Well, it was built in 95! It was one of the first 96 models! I guess they wanted to use up some of the 95 parts.

I have a friend in EP. He can get me the parts cheap. I need the calipers and spindal. The rotor hub and brakes I can buy here to upgrade. The front brakes give when I tow a lot of weight or fast stop from high speed. The front brakes would almost lock. I feel the 255/60R17 wheels with the ABS working.
