Tires - How big can I go on a stock 04 GMC 2500HD?
 

I've got a set of 305/70R16 GY MT/R's that I've been hoarding until i had a worthy truck to put 'em on, now I've got a 04 GMC Sierra 2500HD, 4x4. Just wondering, at stock ride height how big a tire i can go without rubbing fenders? It's got decent 265's on it right now, but I love these MT/R's. I don't believe it's had a leveling kit put on it yet...

Oldest boy has an 06 2500 HD with 305/70r 16. Also has the 1 inch leveling blocks . He said he modded the fender liner a bit at the back because of rubbing issues and the plastic air dam needed trimming .

Middle sons 1500 with 295s showing the air dam/ spoiler aka valance or what ever they are called

Awesome, thanks for the input! Guess I'd have to trim the air dam on mine too with 305's.

The largest tire I personally have seen on a stock 2500 is a 285/75R16 with almost no rubbing on the rear of the fender liner at full flex. If you turn up the torsion bars all the way you might be able to get the 305's under it without very much trimming.

I ran bfg 285/75/16 on stock wheels,,and the same with a 2 inch torsion key lift with block in the rear and rock crawler beadlocks...minor trimming as stated....
