Re: Build pics.

Ok, Its a 1969 swb. Bought it from a salvage for $800. Figured it would be a decent first project. Was missing front left steering componets. It came with a 350/t350 motor and tranny. 6 lug suspension. Plans are for a low frame off show truck that handles as good a s it looks.

looking great! How much time did you have in cleaning the frame? Did you use POR15?

1low69swb 12-17-2011 06:07 PM

Re: Build pics.

Ya i used por15. And prob a 2 pay project but i could keep hooked up, so it took me bout two weeks. I used a drill with a wire wheel, carb cleaner and sum 80 grit sandpaper.

Heres a few more pics of the build. Im about 95% done with the suspension at this point. I need to run brake and gas lines and rebuild the rear drums and new drums. And also finish from the cab back with grade8 bolts. Im currently installing front and rear sway bars there mocked up but not finished. ill get pics when i can. I have the drop shocks for front and rear but i need a load on em to install them. The front has the reinforcement brace installed.Attachment 842986

the wheels on the blue truck are intros (www.introwheels.com) i bet that wheel and tire setup on that truck is close to $10,000

nice progress.

and on the 338s, there's alot of work you have to do to make them fit. they don't just bolt on.

1low69swb 12-19-2011 12:28 PM

Re: Build pics.

Wow there way outta my budget then! And i read sum forums on the 338s and there sayin the fitment issues are fixed. Im not sure if its true or not but that rumour is floatin around. But thanks for the help man!!

You need to reinstall the centerlink and your inner tie rods.
They are on backwards.
