My "new" rally wheels

4 Attachment(s)
Picked up some Rally Wheels off Craig's List a couple months ago. The weather finally warmed up enough to work in the garage. I forgot to take any "before" photos of the wheels, but trust me when I say they were showing their age.

I had them sandblasted, then I primed, painted and applied clear to the wheels and caps.
1. I painted the inside of the wheels black.
2. Outside after paint and clear
3. Center caps "before"
4. The finished product.

Now I need to get hold of PT and get some new screws to attach the center caps!

Looks good. Any reason that you painted the back side black instead of silver? Just curious.

Thanks,
Kevin

The black paint was $3.49 a can and the silver $6.99.

I saw another board member that had painted his wheels that way. The guy actually masked off a clean line between the black and silver on the what will be the inside of the tire (where the air goes). I didn't go to that much trouble.

For the time being I'm probably going to just use what I have on the truck right now -- 235-75-15. Eventually I will probably go to a 70 series tire. Whatever I finally decide, there will be no whitewalls or raised white letters.

Never seen a big block in Saskatchewan that wasn't pink or purple. I have no idea why... I heard rumors it was a fleet order of some kind, but never did confirm.

Maybe it was Mary K farm girls towing their horse trailers!

You did a good job Bill, How much did the sand blasting set you back.

We originally agreed on $75 for all four, which I thought was a lot but less than the other estimate I got. But he didn't have them ready when I came back three days later to pick them up so we did some renegotiating. :metal:
