Well this weeked i didnt get much done on m 65, i had my clutch go out on my camaro and my friend had me put some 4.10 gears in his Mach 1. I also spent some time with my son, he was kind enough to wash daddy's bike  i posted a picture of what my truck looked like before it turned into a million pieces. I should have time to install my tranny and cooler today, so ill post some pictures up tonight :metal: oh yeah and someone forgot to remove the safety latch on the lift, that made a great picture lol

Well monday i took my trailing arms to work and dipped them in muriatic acid, came out looking like new! threw some paint on them and installed the new bushing. I got my tranny installed later that day, im running a b&m 3000 stall and bought the spacer needed to get these two to mate, i also mounted my oil cooler on the frame, kinda stole the idea from Tommys66. Later tonight im gonna set my angle on the drive train , install my trailing arms and possibly get my diff ready to bolt up :metal:

Well its been a while since I've touched my truck. I got my heads back after waiting a few months, got them surfaced, valve job, comp springs and new valve stem seals. Here is a pic of the control arms after i blasted and painted them. Last week I got some goodies like my intake, radiator and a few other parts. Got the intake mounted up, plugged a few wires and she started right up. She sounded healthy and could clearly hear the my texas speed cam getting after it:metal: Monday after talking with a buddy I decided to pull off the intake go fuel injected. Found a good deal on a ls2 intake, injectors and fuel rail. I ordered my hose, AN fittings, fuel cell, fuel pump and vette fuel filter yesterday. I really should be working on my suspension so I hope to get started on that tomorrow

Well this last weekend I decided I needed to get this frame rolling! So I decided to get some stock wheels off a avalanche for the meantime, 1st picture is where I had a turn the axles down to get the wheel to fit properly. So I got the control arms and 2 1/2 spindles on. I ended up using u bolts off a 73 because of the bigger diameter. After a year in the sunlight she's finally seen daylight! I had a change of thought and decided to go fuel injected. I picked up a ls2 intake with injectors and fuel rail for cheap, I went with a walbro 255 fuel pump and vette filter/regulator, using -6AN hose and fitings :metal:

Re: Manny's 65 lsx build

I've been considering machining my axles down, as the wheel selection is so limited for 6 lug. Very few wheels are made with the large opening now.

Did you leave any lip or are they pretty well flush now?

Thanks,
Brian

Yeah I also did it to match my front CPP rotors and I put 14 x 1.5 studs on all four corners just to be safe lol

Well it was a nice day the other day :metal: so I made some time to run my -6AN lines, filter and pump from the intake to the fuel cell, I tell you what, my fingers are sore from putting those fittings on! I also made four brackets that I will be using to mount my fuel cell staps to, I also installed my Afco radiator, its a aluminum dual pass radiator with no tranny cooler I picked up at summit, I believe the part number is 80125N.

I ran my tranny cooler lines and finsihed up my fuel cell, I ran out of braided line so I need to order some more to run my return line. What do you guys think, will it work? I also got my Doug Thorley headers in yesterday:metal:

These LXS conversions are a dream to drive. Wish I would have hung on to the 68 I had with the 6.0 and 4L80E trans. Kicking myself for selling that one.

Your doing some clean work. Keep it up

Looks nice! Only "problem" I see is you faced the sump of your fuel cell forward. That may or may not cause a problem with fuel supply...

Very nice! I am a big fan of LS motors. What are the specs on your Texas Speed cam?

I noticed in one of the pictures you posted yesterday that the driver's side exhaust manifold was a passenger side manifold spun backwards. You wouldn't by chance be thinking of putting a turbo on that engine would you? For the money, you can beat an LS motor with a turbo. Hot Rod Magazine did a build-up a few years ago on a worn out stock 5.3 with a Z06 cam and an ebay turbo and it made 563 horsepower. Those engines was amazing.

I'm collecting parts for a turbo 5.3 or 6.0 for my '55. Can't wait.
