Hi! Welcome, and what a cool Toy you have! I think the color is great already, but we each make decisions on our trucks and I'm sure some opinions will soon follow; )

Thanks alot, just finished reading your build thread you did a nice job on yours alot more than we are capable of doing. Do you happen to know paint code for yours?

Dne' here! ; )

HI Lynx! thank you for the compliment! I believe sometimes we're just forced into fixing things or modifying things cause you probably would be astounded what someone would charge to do it, whatever "it" is! Like a paintjob, not to forget rusty panels, rotted out cab parts, etc., So if you're painting your truck, then you just about have to dissassemble the truck to do it correctly. As simple as these trucks appear~ there's a lot to them!

I just sent an email to the shop that painted my truck to get the paint codes. I hope they remember! I didn't have it painted, the previous owner did. I do know the paint that was used was 1100. per gallon (go figure), so the previous owner told me) ! The body shop had kept the truck for a couple years to work on it at their leisure, also allowing the lady to pay monthly on the work being done. Unfortunately, they did it backasswards, meaning there was much to do before painting the truck. My truck looks good, but there are underlying things which are going to kick my little butt some day! If you read my build, you probably saw some issues that I was up against.

I think your truck is nice looking, judging by the pics! If it's mechanically sound, do some minor mods and drive it! I bought my truck for the project aspect, something which would take me a few years. After projects are completed, I loose interest and need something else to do! lol
You may have to go to the regular forum to get more attention on the forum. I don't think everyone looks on the build threads unless they're drawn to it somehow. I"m not really sure how it works! ; )
I think I've learned a great deal, but there are folks on here that perform unbelieveable modifications and just know a lot!

Ok, heading to the garage to finish unmasking the truck from painting things the past few days!

Nice truck to start with. Mine was factory dark blue before the current build, yours looks a little darker and has some metallic to it. I like blue, but there are a lot of blue TF trucks around here so I'm going with Spruce Green which is more greenish blue depending on the light. Mine has the same drive train as yours on a stock TF frame.

Denee, 1100 a gallon for the metal flake red is not bad. some of the paints I have been looking at are 1500-1800 a gallon for the base.

Oh! gee that's a bunch of money! When opening the lid of a new can of paint, like I painted my dash with~ is sooo pretty! I use a supplied air breathing system when painting and even when mixing, but is it just me, or do paint fumes smell kind of good? :smoke: I feel I got off kind of light then on what I spent at Ken Braults auto paint, 220.oo for a quart of color, a quart of clear, catalyst, reducer and cups, etc. The guys there are so helpful! I've painted a few things over the past, but seems like the first time when putting it all together again and my garage is too small! I'm tired! lol ; )

Lynx, I called the body shop that painted my truck, he said I need to bring a part with the color and they can match it. It's a custom color. I don't think my husband will let me spend 1100 for a gallon of paint, but I don't need any paint, just like to know how to get some if I need it!
