Re-build thread of an RC 75 Chevy Pickup
I haven't been able to find the "want to" too finish another scrathbuilt body I started on a year ago (67-72 bodystyle), so I have been redoing my other RC Chevy trucks.
I'm mostly building new chassis and adding more realistic axles to the trucks, and this will be the last, I think.. I stole the axles from this truck..so, it needs axles. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8211/8...079dfb38_c.jpg I bought these from my favorite online store http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8494/8...86ba21f2_c.jpg And this is where it starts http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8212/8...ae12f1cf_c.jpg I picked up the u-bolts from ebay, they are for another type of truck, but they work. The other stuff is all made by hand. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8352/8...911df50f_c.jpg This will be the new chassis after some work. I will have some left over for another truck I am going to rebuild..(Ford :D) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8374/8...1c73e215_c.jpg Sometimes a little more weight in the tires help it do its "thing" :) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8044/8...f6cf47c8_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8185/8...28f37148_c.jpg I just evenly space them around the inner ring..and no worries on being unbalanced, it just doesn't go fast enough.. :) http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8185/8...0d98d9b5_c.jpg |
Re: Re-build thread of an RC 75 Chevy Pickup
I got the chassis made and the axles mounted up. The transmission and electric motor are just sort of laying there ..:)

I finally sat down the other night and started putting all the electronics and the rest of the running gear on the frame. http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8495/8...ce6fc9d6_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8511/8...a375cfba_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8049/8...d7385568_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8331/8...aaf70b43_c.jpg http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8184/8...85bf8f02_c.jpg |
Finished, for now..
I took it out yesterday morning, and it did really good, except for the tires, on an uphill climb on frozen, sandy, snowy soil.

Re: Re-build thread of an RC 75 Chevy Pickup
And now, the video's.. I made 2, one going down the ravine, and one trying to make it back up. It needs different tires to make that climb.
