Hello guys,
First of all, thanks for the great forum!
My name is Ivo, I live in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Let me show you my 1990 Suburban and plans I have for it.
It is 1990 Chevy Suburban, 4x4, TH400, 5,7 TBI, 241C transfer case.
Friend of mine inspected it and bought it for me in June 2012 from Atlanta and I got it here in September 2012. I think I have great luck finding this Sub. It is very clean and rust free, original condition with normal wear for the years. The engine and tranny runs fine.

What I have done so far:
Changed spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, temperature sender, blown exhaust manifold gasket on driver side, engine oil and filter, air filter.

My plans are to install LPG (propane) system as soon as possible. I got all the parts I need, just waiting for weather to get warmer here.

What I have to do and need some advices on are:
Change weather strip on all doors because the rubber is hard as rock.
I have bought kit including all weather strip and seals needed.

There are some leaks around the doors, the carpet is wet, I also see drips inside around drivers door, see on the picture, the head liner is not wet. First I thought it leak from roof rack holes, so I removed it and seal the holes, but it did not stop the leak.

Do you think the leaks are from bad door seals?

About the roof rack, I want to keep it on, but there are 3 huts pull out. Is there any easy fix that do not require welding?

I will really appreciate your help and advices.

Hard to tell without peeking a little. Pull the visors and A and B pillar trim and let the headliner droop enough to see if its hiding anything.

check your drip rails over the doors and under the windshield rubber.

Hello again, thanks for reply,
I got a bit further with issue here. I pull out all carpets to find the floor in pretty nice shape except driver and passenger floors. The worst on the passenger side.
The felt under carpet was very wet, could squeeze water from it. I tried to find where this water comes from but could not find it. I thought it is from old door seal which I will change anyway.
Then I wire brushed it, apply rust remover and apply protective paint.
So far so good.

Last night it was raining here. In the morning I opened passenger door to find a pool on the floor. Then I inspect everything closer to find it was leaking from lower corner, see it with red on the pic. Then I put my hand in the vent hole, you can see blower motor there, in yellow on the pic. It was full of leaves, mud and dirt. I suspect there is drain hole blocked somewhere.
Can anyone tell me where should I look for this drain hole and what is the way to clean this dirt from there.
I find some cover under the fender, shown on picture. Will this cover open the way to clean this cavity?

This morning I found the solution.
There is plastic cover behind the fender arc. Underneath there is drain hole.

After cleaning it with my tool I put tap hose in a hole under the hood until clean water and no dirt coming out of drain hole.

I hope it will keep rust and moisture till the next fill up :)

Thanks for the help! My blazer is also leaking in those two spots and I haven't been able to figure it out. Now I'm going to check this area out.....thanks!

Your truck is sharp and I'm sure it's quite the effort to get it over there....nice job.

Getting a 2500 you should have a little stronger parts so that's great.

I don't see a lot of rust either so nice find.

I was really lucky to find it.
Friend of mine living in Florida was on a business trip to Atlanta for some days, then it came out of craiglist.

I have some electrical question. I need to change power window switches on passenger side and rear doors.
I find different Dorman switches, part # 901016 and # 49241.
Does anyone know which is correct one?

Hello again,

I keep working on my truck and have done quite a lot till now :)
I disassemble all interior, wash all seats, carpets and door panels. Changed door seals. Welded new nuts for roof rack. Fixed A/C.

Now I get to heater box to fix defroster and other blowers.
I open the box to find broken clip. I find it is common problem, see the picture.

Can I find this clip anywhere?
Unfortunately, I am not in US, so I have to order it online.

Otherwise, I think I can fix it by making two parallel metal pieces riveted to the door. What do you think?

Classic Parts has that piece. I can't imagine how much they would charge to send this $2.50 part to you!

These things break all the time. Most people complain about no heat at defrost, or not hot enough, or no heat at vents, etc.......most likely it's this blending door tab. I bet you could fabricate something for it and it will certainly help with the problem. I replace mine last year.

Looking at some of your older posts, the wetness in the passenger....did you also check your heater core? If it was leaking, it would drip down in that same area and have a coolant/sweet smell. Might just check that while you're in there.

I don't find Dorman "49214"

Be sure to check your driver's side first as it sometimes prevents the other three from working (if I recall).

Hi man, thanks for reply,

I will go fabricating way :-) no patience to wait delivery :-)
I will make it from tin, so it will be much more durable then plastic one.
I will post pics when done.

About the leak... it is from windshield lower right corner. I fill it with silicone, so I hope it will survive some more years :-)

Hello guys,

Last week I went to change ATF in tranny and transfer case and try to eliminate leak from somewhere there.
It turned out, according to the mechanic, the seal between tranny and transfer case is leaking, because transfer case was full of ATF.

The tranny is TH400 with NP241C transfer case.
I need to order this seal but I do not know what size I should order.
I found at least three different sizes?
Rear (2.380" OD) (65-98) (44074) (D5AZ-7052A)
Rear (2.500" OD) (65-98) (36074) (C3AZ-7052A)
Rear (2.700" OD) (65-98) (34074) (8675730)

Can anyone help me to identify what seal I need?
