WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
1 Attachment(s)
Wanted: Two NOS "Custom Camper" fender emblems. These were used on 1966, 67 and 68 Custom Camper C20s. Will consider very nice used as well as long as they are not pitted and still have all of their paint as shown. Thanks.

Re: WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
you aren't asking a lot are you? LOL....I do have an unpitted set of these but they are not cheap. 100.00 for the set. And they were repainted red and gold for some reason so you would have to strip the paint and re-paint the bowtie etc. Sorry - perfect examples of these rare emblems do not exist. Been doing this for over 20 yrs and never saw any like you are wanting except this set I have in terms of pit free condition. Good luck

Sorry, just being honest. Would also consider very nice or NOS 66 C20 emblems instead.

Re: WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
I found a pair of N.O.S. a few years back and they were even cheap! I planned to hang on to them till I met a guy restoring a rare '67 CST Custom Camper with all the bells & whistles that I thought deserved them. They are out there, patience is a virtue. Keep on keepin' on. I think you'll find what you are looking for.

Thanks but I don't think these are any better than what I already have. The search continues.

Re: WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
If I knew of someone who could make them look like the photos I posted (thanks, Yelmer!) I would. I have seen some attempts at amateur restorations on these emblems and... in my opinion.... they almost look worse to me afterwards. I don't think I have the skill to re-finish the painted areas to my satisfaction and the chrome parts will never look like new again, I don't think. I assumed someone out there restored emblems like this but I have yet to find that person.

Re: WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
I wish you had the skill to repaint my nice set - they are beautiful but repainted the wrong colors to match someones project. I may go get them and strip the paint off and see if I can bring them back for you - I restore all my own emblems paint-wise when I cannot find NOS and while hand painting and restoration never looks as good as NOS it is what it is....unless you think your C-20 is worth 100 points at Carlisle or Hershey I wouldn't be hesitate to use very nice originals. Many of the rarest vehicles have restored parts that are not reproduction or NOS - that is why this hobby is called restoration - so let me go get my set and I will post pics on here and you can see how clean they are

Re: WTB: 1966, 67, 68 Custom Camper emblems
Thanks for the leads, everyone. My pair is not too shabby, just missing color mostly. I'm always happy to consider other alternatives, though. Unfortunately, I am picky. That's why I'd really like NOS if at all possible.
