I think you need a 4 to 6 inch lift for them not to rub.

35s won't clear with less than 4",as mentioned above. I have 35s (12.50s on 10" wheels) and they'll rub if I'm not careful. There are now 10.50/35s that might possibly work mounted on 8" wheels, but can't say for sure

V10 became the designate,in place of K10,for all square body 4wds beginning in '87,because the '88-style came out during the '87 production year, and both styles were offered for the next four years in Blazer/Jimmy,Suburban,and Crewcab*. R took the place of C in 2wds. So,'87 was the first and last year for the V10/R10 pickup.

*Actually,the V30 dually P/U was offered in '88 and V30 Cab & Chassis through '89

4" will rub-bend the front fenders off-road. Mine did. 6" min needed in my opinion. Unless only use it on-road it would be fine I think.

They dropped the 'C' and 'k' designation in '86 to U and V? Or v and w? Something like that

4" lift minimum, and they'll rub if you flex it much while turning. 6" lift, and even then they can rub depending on what wheel width and back space you run.

Cs became Rs and Ks became Vs. I think I have this down, finally, after more or less ignoring the new designates for years. I had a '90 Blazer and I insisted on calling it a K5 because that's what it is/was. It was bad enough buying parts and having people ask,"S10 or Fullsize?". I'd tell them "Blazer. If it was an S10 I would have let you know". I never had a problem with identity calling it a K5,since there was no new body style Blazer made till '92 after they stopped building the old style. I think it was officially called a V1500 Blazer.

I still wonder why they made a k1500 blazer when it was just a renamed 2 door tahoe.

4dr SUVs were just coming on and '92 was the first Tahoe. GM always made the Suburban when the other two never made such a thing, and Blazer/Jimmys since 69/70. The Tahoe was the first of it's kind from GM and it got it's own name. I guess a few years later, once 4drs created the SUV explosion (the way ext. cabs did trucks) GM marketing decided to lose the old Blazer name and let the S10 have it ll lone. So,it wasn't a renamed Tahoe,it was the first full-size 2dr SUV...the Blazer, which GM had been building for 23 years. The Tahoe was a brand new model, which actually stole it's name from an S10 trim level.

sorry special k, didn't see your post when I put mine up. couldn't remember what the 2wd's were called.

The blazers never occurred to me. my buddy has a '89 blazer and I always call it ' the K5'

Yeah, like I said,I never had the whole V/R thing down till recently...and that all started over a quarter century ago. Not many have it straight and I still have to check myself on which is R and which is V. On blazers and Jimmys (and the other R/Vs) GM dropped the fender badge and went with the same badging as the new style C/Ks...series on lower front door and trim level on B-pillar. I had the '90 Blazer and never paid attention that it wasn't a K/5 and didn't say so anywhere on it
