Paging Bruceman, Paging Mr. Bruceman

Its been highly (and repeatedly) recommended by a respected fellow forum member that I ask you to photoshop my truck with my pending drop before I drop it, to make sure its what I want... (The issue is how to low to go with a LWB and making sure the change in altitude doesn't make the bed look abnormally long)

So, if you would please sir....

I'm on the verge of a 3" drop up front (picking up 3" drop springs and shocks from Bhelton next weekend) and (pending measurement of my scrub line), 2 or 3" out back (I don't think I can get 3" drop blocks- can anybody confirm?). If I can only do 2" in the rear for now I am ok with a bit of a rake.

I hope that this is not wasted money and effort- I don't know how low this truck is from stock now just with the wear and tear of 43 yrs on the suspension. I'd hate for this to be a lift kit!

If you can get really fancy, I'm planning on chevy (car) rallys for wheels (15x7 up front, 15x8's out back). (you don't have to keep the oil leak drip pan in the pic!...damn oil leaks....)

Pics below, I can email you original hi-res if you'd prefer....

Thanks!!!!!

John, Here is a quick 3' drop. I'll find a set of rallys to put on it later today.

I'd say you are right! That looks great. Changes it from a farm truck into something with a bit more attitude.

I'm going to do the 3" drop and finish it later with front spindles and a c-sectioned hind end.

thanks!!!!!

That looks nice. No too much, not too little. Thanks for taking the time Bruce

John, if you want to see what it would look like with a chrome rear bumper, he could probably hook you up. He did one for me, and so he probably already has the bumper sample. He'd need a shot from the back while standing maybe 8 feet back

One of the guys, EZ4U2C (Matt), at the meet today had a chrome sport bumper on his '70 I was admiring. Panel Deland even offered me a painted sport bumper he has but I'm nervous if I get it, it'll delay me getting a nice chrome one on there.....

I am looking forward to getting the chrome one on there (need to buy the whole kit- brackets and all) and the taillight/tailgate trim I'm missing but the front is just a bumper away from being done so its first!

John, Here is a finished 3' drop using the high res pic you sent me. Note the oil pan is missing, found some 6 lug rallys and cleaned the spot off the driveway. :)

The next 3 are quick jobs, so you can see even lower drops.

aw man, why did you do the lower drops? Now 3" won't be anything.... click, click, click of your mouse and *BOOM* goes my wallet!

Very cool and definitely gets my butt in gear to lose some altitude and change the attitude.

Thanks!
