My new Blazer
5 Attachment(s)
I bought this 1971 today. It's rusty, but for $375 I don't think it matters. It doesn't run, but everything is there. My plan is to get it running and driving and then just drive it. My boys are 6 and 7 so maybe it will be a project in a few years. Otherwise I still have my eyes open for a solid Blazer.
Check out the "custom" front grille ;) |
Re: My new Blazer
Congrats and welcome over to the blazer section of the forum. I too recently became a K5 owner. Your truck looks like it needs some work but all of the parts are there. I am always amazed to see these trucks selling for less than $1000, i woulda bought that up in a heartbeat!!. Looks like with a couple patches and some time under the hood you will have yourself a fun top-down cruiser

Re: My new Blazer
Great buy! The hatch and top are worth that....keep us posted on your progress

Re: My new Blazer
Great deal! How's the interior?
|
Re: My new Blazer
Interior is OK. Missing back seat. Non-original buckets.
I may put the seat from my 67 in it for now, and keep my eyes open for a parts Blazer and try to make one from two. |
Re: My new Blazer
Nice buy. I think the custom grill is a keeper ;)

Re: My new Blazer
Damn good deal for the price. I bought one similar but missing the interior and engine and trans for that price. Took what I needed and resold it for 250 on eBay. If you got it running even in that shape you could get a grand for it easy. Congrats and get we runnin an have some fun.

Re: My new Blazer
Congrats!
Does the "HEAVY FRONT SPRING" mean three leaves? |
Re: My new Blazer
My heavy duty rancho front springs have three leaves. I don't know about stock.
|
Re: My new Blazer
Good deal on that. Kinda surprised how well that grill fits in there. Is it running yet? Gas, battery, check oil and water, see if it turns over.

Re: My new Blazer
No progress. I did go get the ignition key. I actually forgot to ask for it when I bought it, silly me.
Maybe Saturday. I have to do part of the roof on my house but it's a flat roof and I need a 50 and rising day to do it. Looks like Saturday is out for roofing. Sunday I am taking my employees pheasants hunting so that's out. We will see how Saturday goes. |
Re: My new Blazer
Lots of potential - diggin that price!

Re: My new Blazer
We are getting close. Original engine is rebuilt and in. Have to get exhaust manifold in, a couple wires buttoned up, carburetor installed, and fan, alternator and radiator installed. A good friend and board member will be here on the 11th to help me start it for the first time. I will have to get some pictures when I think about it. Been too busy chasing the kids around to their activities, and only getting to the garage a couple hours a week.
