Paint Finish Help
1 Attachment(s)
From what I think happened my Painter didn't use a foam polish wheel to finish off the paint job. So all I need to do is the 3rd step of a paint job?
Get Perfect It Swirl Mark Remover and the Foam Pad to get a nice finish then put a couple good coats of some kind of car wax on it? I just bought a Dewalt Polisher DWP849X 600-3500 rpm var. speed. If you look close at the photo you can see the lack of a shine esp. right below the bright area where the light is reflecting. |
Re: Paint Finish Help
I would consider some 2000 or 2500 grit wet and dry sanding paper and a rubber backing piece to get the paint smoother before doing the buffing step. Many body shops truy to match the factory finish that believe it or not has a certain amount of orange peel in it's finish. If you want it to shine, be prepared to buff the whole vehicle to get it to all match. I would also ask the body shop just how much clear coat that they put on, so that you don't overdue the polishing and rub through to the basecoat.
