In over my head!!

I've been a member for some time just not posting much at all. I recently picked up a pretty solid 70 swab with I6 and th350 from a guy who wasn't very mechanical. It was running when he bought it and drove it a little but when I went to look at it he couldn't get it running. I pick it at a good price, brought it my shop and started looking it over, hooked a couple of wires and it fired up!!! I worked on the brakes and got them decent enough to move around the shop and started striping the body.

Thanks Mr, I have some more pics I'll load later today. The truck was worked out of so the top bed rain is HAMMERED!! I'm trying to straighten it out today and the drivers door may end up with a new skin since it was hit in the body line and I'm not sure if I have the skills to get it back right!! Other than that it needs rockers of course and the 4" patch of outer floor. The passenger side is super straight but I also don't have it stripped yet either.

Any thoughts on door skins vs finding a different door?

Thanks to Mother Nature , I have been able to get some work done on the truck!! I got the first coat of filler on drivers side and got the passenger side stripped. The passenger side is super straight and should go much faster than the hammered drivers side

The heavy stripping was done with an electric DA sander. As body work us being done the whole thing is getting 120 before primer. I picked up a stud welder from HF this morning trying to reduce the amount of filler in the bed.

Should rename this project 'snowball'! After getting started on this project the direction has stayed the same but the timeline has moved up.

I sold the I6/350 combo on craigslist and called my junkyard and had them pull me a 5.3/4l60 combo and a blazer gas tank. I picked all that up Monday before Xmas!

I have taken the bodywork as far as I think I'm going to right now. I received my rockers, outer door skin, and inner rockers from Paul's the other day and will work on them as soon as I get the motor running.

I worked on the interior before Xmas and got it stripped and painted black. I'm considering wrapping the exterior with some matte silver vinyl with a matte white top but I'm still undecided on this as of yet

I ordered the dirty dingo sliders for 73-87 which required me to find motor mounts out of the same year. Spent this morning in 20 degree weather to get a FREE set of mounts. Also worked on the gas tank mock up
