Well I thought that was a fine video. Hell I may do one of these out here in the AZ Desert on a fire road near the house some time. What you all farming there? Grain, Cattle or what else?

Cam.man67, this is great vid; I got much more than I expected.

The beginning camera angle catches my attention then the stop/walk around is pretty kool. Diesel!

Taking us inside for the rest of the "ride" to see the beautiful country-side (you did just enough talking) allowing us to be there with you, then "Home for supper." Thanks.

Thanks for the comments, guys! I really don;t know what I'm doing, so I'm more or less happy with the result. Need to take care of that wind noise, though...

@520CheyenneK10: We've got a 207-acre, certified organic, seasonal dairy farm that is our main business, but we also raise heritage-breed pigs (you can see one or two as I pull up the driveway), lamb, beef, and produce. Keeps me and my dad busy. :)

Great job! I've been wanting a GoPro since they came out. Before that,I always thought about finding a way to film my country rides to share with others. I knew where I was at the whole time! Looks like from your place the sun sets right in the gap. Is that Brownsville Gap or Crampton Gap?

Looks like you are having a good time, and the views are pretty cool!
I need some advice-So my wife bought me an Ion Air Pro for Christmas. The camera came with a box full of attachments to hang the thing anywhere, but it was also broke. I am going to return it next week and I think I will get a go pro. Did the mount you were using come with the camera? I am guessing that mount was a suction cup?

The Air Pro is round like the Contour, but she got a good deal with all the attachments (not really it was broke, lol).

If you can spring for it, the AVS video software is easy to use. You can add music and edit fairly easy. They are having a sale for all the software they offer for like $39....

Bummer about that! The mount I was using did come with the Go Pro; it was the flat adhesive mount. Cool this is, the adhesive is reusable, though it's not as versatile as a suction mount (which i also have, though it was purchased separately).

Gotcha,Thanks! I did not know they were reusable. I think I will also buy a suction cup mount, I am going on a snowmobile trip to the UP Michigan area in three weeks and would love to be able to mount the camera in a bunch of different spots on the sled.

It's funny,I was thinking you were on Lander Rd for some reason so I was disoriented trying to figure where you were at first. I was thinking over by Broad run/383 and kept looking for landmarks. Couldn't read the road signs and it just didn't look right. I was expecting you to end up along Catoctin Creek. Once you were on Old Middletown I realized where you were. I'll look at the beginning now that I know where I'm (you were) at. I was thinking Crampton's,but wasn't sure if I was looking straight at the mountain or not.

Enough local talk. Nice driver you got there!

Thanks! He's a lot of fun. Been nice to have a nice-driving truck again. Not that I dislike my M1008, but it's not the smoothest ride. ;) The beginning of the vid starts right after turning onto Paul Rudy. I think Crampton's Gap would be right over my left shoulder?

Great work on the video. The longer you own it, the more mounting options/angles you think up. I use Adobe Premiere Elements 11 for my editing. I think it was around $90 from B&H Photo. They also have gopro accessories cheap. Some computers come with basic video editing software like Windows Movie Maker or Apple iMovie. They work pretty well while you're learning. Gopro also has their own free editing software called Cineform. You should build a DIY magnetic mount. I use mine on vehicles and equipment all the time. Basically its a large magnet from Hobby Lobby, Harbor Freight, etc, with a sticky mount stuck on it. Put self adhesive felt (from Hobby Lobby) on the magnet side so it doesn't scratch paint. It works excellent for trucks. I would advise you to use a tether when you have the camera mounted outside the vehicle just in case the mount fails. I buy black shoe strings. Just tie it as close to the camera as possible and then tie the other end to something solid nearby. Here's a link to my channel: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDywFDjEL1nUi13cb6mLn5w . I'm gradually getting more 73-87 truck videos on there.
