LS conversion - fuel delivery system - options?
So parts have been ordered for my 1970 C10 ( build thread below) and I am onto my next step!
Fuel delivery system... I already have the rear mount gas tank and that's in place. My plan is to purchase the Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump (researching if it can be mounted inside the tank), and I'm up in the air about regulators. What's your fuel system made up of and how well do you like it? |

It depends on what you have on the engine you are installing. When I installed my LQ9 LS 6 liter I used the the fuel pump in a Boyds gas tank. Then just ran a pressure and return lines through a filter and to the manifold. There is a fuel regulator on the fuel rail. Or you could use a corvette fuel filter/regulator then just run one pressure line up to your one line fuel rail system, no return line.

The LS i'm using is the LQ9 out of a 2004 Escalade and im going to keep the stock EFI system.

That is the same engine I used, but I changed the intake and fuel system to the older drive by cable throttle body with two fuel line system. Just because that was the fuel system and engine harness I had in the truck on the first engine that I installed. I originally installed a 4.8 liter first which ended up being total junk, so then I found the 6 liter. If I remember correctly that LQ9 had a drive by wire throttle body and one fuel supply line. You will be very happy with the performance and drive ability. I also installed a 4l60e trani, with the 3.73 posi. Works good. I'm not sure when the corvettes started using the filter/regulator assembly. I'm guessing 2000 and newer, any one with the LS engine.

An A1000 is a lot of pump unless this is a seriously modified engine. I have a 255 gph Walbro stuffed in the stock fuel tank and a stock return type fuel pressure regulator myself.

Edelbrock makes the Universal Fuel Reservoir kit which you can just feed with as little as a regular mechanical pump and it'll deliver a constant 60psi, not sure what the system you have needs though.
