LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

A member asked me to make him another set of these, so I made an extra set to offer for sale. These come as shown in the picture for $56.00 shipped in the USA. If you would like this set, post here in this thread and either send me a PM here on the forum or an email to captainfab454@ hotmail dot com for payment details.

Do you have any pictures of these installed and what mounts will they work with?

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

No I do not have any installed pics. Any Gen I small block engine mount will bolt up.

Hey Captain ... Any Idea where these put the engine in relation to oem sbc. forwards / backwards .... If so how much does it move..?

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

These should position the engine in the original Gen I location.

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

So, if I pulled a GEN1 SBC out of a truck, and bolted these on the LSx engine, the LSx will go back in the same spot the GEN1 was sitting allowing the bellhousing face to be in the same position as the old engine?

I'm asking because I removed a GEN1 that was mounted to a TH350. I want to keep the TH350's placement as is (to retain driveshaft and linkage) and mount the LSx to it.

Will your mounts work?

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

I have not installed a set of these, but that is what I understand from the dimensions I used to make these for other members. Someone that has installed a LSx with this style of adapter plate could give you a definite answer.

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

Most of these type of plates move the engine an 1 1/2 or more forward. This is to allow the head to clear the fire wall. The distance from the back of the head to the mounting surface for the bell housing is shorter on the LS engines. If the head was close before it will be in a bad place with the LS.

Here is a post that shows how these adapter plates position the engine. The text tells the position of the engine mount brackets.

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

Going by the drawings I have these are 1 1/4 forward if using the same location for the mounts on the frame. That should be a good spot for our trucks. (60 to 66) to get off the fire wall.

I got s front crossmember out of an 85. Will these work with the new style engine mounts?

Re: LSx Engine Mount Adapter Plates

Yes. As stated above, these will work with all Gen I small block engine mounts. They will also work with Gen II and Big block engine mounts since the bolt pattern is the same for all of them
