700r4 or not 700r4

Hi folks: good moning from Chula Vista Ca.
I found two transmissions 1993, one on a Chevy Silverado and one on a GMC trucks. But the harness conector are at the right side of the transmission not at the drivers side like it is on the 1990 I have. Also I just notice do not have the tv cable.
Is this a trans that can be swap or not.
Thanks

It sounds like a 4l60e. There's no tv cable because the shifts are controlled electronically. It can be swapped with the purchase of a trans shift controller. They don't come cheap though. It's a good transmission, just pricey and more often used for fuel injection setups.

Definitely a 4l60e

It's not an option unless you want to add a controller plus rig the sensors to make it work.

does anyone know if all 700r4's have provisions for a mechanical speedometer?

It can be installed on any of them although all the late ones came with VSS

Anyways: I already install the 700r4 but if is possible swap a 4L60E, I want to know what to do and what I had to buy in order to do this swap in a future. I could start to collect all the necessary parts for the next time.

yea its not cheap to do electronic transmission without an ECU. i guess the market isnt big enough that the prices have come down on stand alone transmision controllers. Probably wont since most people are going to fuel injection with ECUs anyway. nothing wrong with a good 700r4 .

Just for my own knowledge, I'm thinking of building a Megashift. By using an old ECM case and connector it can be built for $100-$200
