Lowered the 67...lookin for your 2 cents

Well I lowered my 67 and I know that the shocks in the rear don't really do there job since they are to slanted to push the suspension down, I also know that the trac bar doesn't really center the axle very well so I'm already planning on getting cpp's adjustable deluxe trac bar with the relocation brackets for the passenger trailing arm but my questions are will that trac bar bracket fit with the stock shock bracket? And my second question is can I drill the rivets out on the upper shock mounts and reverse them, to make the shock more parallel? Thanks in advance!

Thanks Nate! That'll do perfect and that should fit with the new trac bar relocation bracket right?

I put 2-1/2" drop spindles in the front with 5" rear drop coils so I guess it's a 2.5/5 drop

To answer your question, the deluxe bent trac bar mounts to the trailing arm and I don't know if it will work with the stock shock bracket or not because I got both the trac bar and the shock relocation kit at the same time and installed them, but with the truck lowered you need both anyway because just reversing the upper bracket wont change the angle enough to make an appreciable difference you really need the relocation kit.

Looks great. And it's great that lowered coils, shock relocating kits, and adjustable panhard bars are now available (thanks to ECE). But,we've been lowering these trucks "the wrong way" for 40 years and enjoyed them just as much as anyone does with "the right" stuff today.

Boy, isn't that the truth. Rode around in plenty of these rigs that have the feel of a buck-board in a covered wagon over the years. It's really neat that the aftermarket for these trucks has exploded like it has, and offers us the benefits of a sweet ride and a lowered stance. :)

I see well I am blaming on doing that mod that's in the link above posted by Nate so hopefully that should be enough if not then I'll buy the relocation brackets. To me since I'm not going to sell this truck any labor I put in to it is already technically wasted because I won't be paid, so I don't mind putting in work to the truck even if I don't use the brackets lol

I agree! I'm very pleased with companies like cpp and ece to bring parts to the table that can produce an equivalent if not better ride then stock with a lowered stance my 67 rides awesome still!

The CPP rear shock relocation kit is very nice and for $55 shipped it's a great deal too.
It radically changes the angle of the shock and trust me you need it because you will notice a difference in the ride quality.
Buy it you won't regret it.
Here is a current link for it on ebay.

Dang! I guess I should just order directly from cpp then

If they are on back order with Summit it's most likely because CPP doesn't have them to send. Waiting on the boat,I guess (or is their stuff US made?). Certainly worth a call. More likely, another vendor might still have a kit on the shelf

I would order from their ebay store if the part is available because you will find the most up to date prices and a lot of times you will get free shipping where as on CPP's website store the prices aren't kept up to date and are always more expensive with no free shipping on anything unless they are running a special.
