Freight Charges, Jegs.com
As you may have seen, freight charges can be really big from some suppliers. Jegs carries a lot of stuff from Sheman and AMD, and probably others. They do an on-line price match where you can enter another supplier's address URL on the order form and write in the lower price. They will validate the lower price and go with that if it's legit, and stuff like rocker panels and cab corners shipped at no charge. I just bought a grill and some stuff from Brother's - $70 in shipping charges. If they carried it, Jegs would have matched their price and shipped it for a lot less (I'm assuming some stuff from Jegs will have an oversize charge on the shipping). Any way, if you are trying to build on a budget like me, try entering the part number or description in the search field on the Jegs website. It might save you some money, it did for me on my AMD parts.

Re: Freight Charges, Jegs.com
Across the board on anything I order online I check and compare the shipping and "handling" costs from more than one source to make sure that my total cost is favorable along with delivery time.
1 thing I always do is plug a parts number into The Ebay search and plug that same parts number into an Amazon search. Amazon Prime has free priority shipping that paid my annual Prime fee on the first order. Add in Rock Auto and O'Reilly's website to check prices and keep things honest. 70 to ship a big box of stuff across the country doesn't seem so bad after I just paid 24.75 to send Fer 12 bolts 12 star washers an 1 tap by priority mail this morning. http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...v/DSCN4802.jpg http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w...v/DSCN4801.jpg 10 dollars worth of stuff that weighed 10 ounces. |

Re: Freight Charges, Jegs.com
It went in a USPS priority envelope that would have gone for 5 something in the US but cost the 24.75 to go to to the Netherlands. I hunted for a lower rate but that would have put it on the slow boat.
