What are they worth: Bucket Seats

Hey guys,

Looking for some opinions once again here. I have come across some original 69 bucket seats for my 67. I understand that these are hard to come by...especially in Canada and they are only 6 hours away haha. They are in 3need of complete restoration. I'll need to buy new foam and get them reupholstered. All the metal is solid just needs some paint.

What would you guys price these at?

Mike

Any pics? Best to confirm what they really are. I see countless ads claiming "original" 69-72 buckets and more often than not they are 73-up.

Here they are about 1200 done, so you need foam and covers so-350 to 800, depnds on frame, springs and mounts

Look like 69s to me.
If you get the seats ask about the steering wheel. Maybe post it for sale on the parts board ... I would love to have it if it's not entirely gone.
Hopefully my inquiry isn't against any rules, I'm just throwing it out there I might be interested in that maroon piece.

Also when recovering I've noticed to save vinyl they make diagonal cuts at the top which originals seemed not to have.

Good luck
Nim

I'm thinking offering $100 each. The driver seat looks like its about to fall through the floor so brackets may be rusted. Good luck and hope you get them.

I am with dirt on this... I would say 150 - 200 for the pair... you are going to have a major investment in these restoring them... The original 67-68 Buddy buckets in this condition with the center seat and brackets would bring 400-500

If you have access and it's for sale... get the bucket seat floor brace from the floor too. That would bring you enough to pay for those seats. Good luck!

I would get those too, even though I fairly dislike bucket seats(!)

They look to be in good shape...just my opinion. Looks like the general idea is to pick them up. They are 275.00, I thought that was a high considering the price but seems like you guys believe it's a fair price?

Mike,
$275 is a fair price in my opinion. Like Mike above stated, try to get the cab braces.

I didn't know that you needed specific floor braces when going from bench to bucket? I have tried looking up the part at a couple different places (lmc, brothers and classic industries) with no luck. Any ideas where to find them?

Re: What are they worth: Bucket Seats

The original truck floors have a special brace that goes across the floor to aid in bracing the floor. There is a seller on the board here... Roger Koop I believe that sells a set of small braces that I used on my floor to support the seats.

*A small note... There is most, if not all holes will need to be drilled.
Here is a few threads to waste the rest of your day with! LOL

Lol you don't need a specific floor brace to mount these. Oversize washers work just fine. His asking price is fair, I'd buy them.

Sorry, I should have been specific that you DO NOT NEED these braces or anything else. Bolts will be fine to hold the seat...
I just felt better knowing there was more support under the floors to spread out the surface area if the need arose for a hard stop and God forbid the event of a crash.
I hope I didn't send you on a wild goose chase for the braces Koop sells or the factory floor brace.

No not at all, I wasn't going to start looking till this evening anyways. I would feel better having something to spread out the weight too!

I have a good idea of what I need to do now and what I need, thank you. The post you gave me earlier are a lot of help. Hopefully I can find the correct mounting spot for the seats :metal:

Re: What are they worth: Bucket Seats

If these trucks had integrated seatbelts I would see extra floor bracing as a necessity. Since the seatbelts are non integrated and have independent mounting points there really is no need for the floor bracing, other than being able to tell people it's factory original.

I got the some pictures of the steering wheel if you are interested? It's all cracked and faded though. If I pulled it off my truck the next place it would go would be the trash can.
