Signal/Running light question

okay, so here we go again,

Im rewiring with a non guage aka lights only 77/78 harness. and a 80's? steering coloum, it has the wiper control on the signal lever, its fake chrome with a off, high and low setting as well a a window doucher as a flat forwardpushing part on a spring. No cruse.

Doing tests today and ive ran into an issue.
First i installed all the wiring and turned on the light switch to runners....nothing.

Signal left, right, it works but does not alternate the marker lights with front signals....
so i disconnected my headlight switch and jumped the heavy red to the brown (runners as book says) and all lights came on,
however, with runners on, and a signal, the lights will alternate marker, signal, marker signal, as they are surposed too, but they are using the same filiment, the large filiment,
before the re wire, a seperate filiment would stay on and another would blink.

I know the marker lights are on a dual + like an ammeter, so there is a current flow,
im thinking the inner workings of the collum are diferent, altho the wire collor combo is the same and chevy wiring diagrams say they are the same....

thoughts??

Re: Signal/Running light question

oh, and looking at the rear,
lights on, signal on, brakes on, only 1 light, the one that is not blinking will glow brighter with the brakelight, the other will blink on and off.

before the brake would flash of and on dim and bright.

also on this colum, the wiper controll is a sperate plug, not being used.
