Hello, i've posted pictures in the past on here. i have been consistently been working on my truck for the past year and would like to share some pictures. Aswell, i put new rims and tires on it and now found out the rim is riding on the drum. My braking has been horrible since ive done this and assume it to be part of the problem. Any recommendations?

Thanks, Andrew

No suggestions here but that's one heck of a nice K20! Great pictures too.

Had this issue on a 69 GMC k2500. Using modern wheel to get away from the split rim and used a single washer on the lug studs, then put on wheel all was good, this was only in the front though you didn't say what wheel you had the problem with. Nice truck too.

Fine example of a 67 k20. Simple but cool...

Very nice! Add some pics to the K20 "Hall of Fame" when possible: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=561516

Thanks everyone! It's been a lot of fun. I daily drive it and it rides like a rock. 68panelman thanks for the input and ya it's only the front I have an issue with. I will try that.

My recommendation would be to stop spending money on that ugly mutt. Gimme a call and I will come pick it up ASAP:lol:
Your worries will all be over.

No, seriously though, great looking truck. Dated a girl in the early 80's whose father had your trucks twin brother. Used to let me take in out once in a while as long as his daughter went too.
Let both of em slip through my fingers. :waah:
Sorry I can't offer any good solid advice on the rims other than to guess it could be the center hole is a little small and not seating all the way down?
Keep us posted on that bute.

What diameter are the rims? whats the back spacing? when you say they hit the drums are you refering to the outer ring of the wheel hitting the outer diameter of the drum? if so ya need a larger diameter rim or one with possibly less back spacing

So nice to see other k20's as nice as yours
If you find your rims are actually causing the problem
Try wheel vintiques
That's what came on mine 16" x7
Good luck and enjoy

@LockDoc,

I ended up using washers to space the rims away from the drum. It seems that the rims I bought are a variety of different brands even though I think the back spacing and width are all identical. I know that the tires are all the same size for sure. To explain, the outer edge of the front drums were just rubbing on rivets that held the center section of the rims to the outer section. I think these were a combination of Chrysler and Ford rims. I think the best solution would be to take the disk brake front axle I have and put it up front, then get 4 identical rims that I know fit properly. Attached is another pic with my dads C-10 in the background.

Thanks, Andrew
