My new 4x4. Finally!!!
First off, thanks to GEE EMM for origionally posting the E-Bay link last week. I usually do not frequent E-bay for car for shipping purposes but this one was local.
Excluding the rocker boxes which are non-existant, this truck is 98% rust free. Just a tad and I mean barely at the bottom of the doors and one dime sized spot on one of the 1/4 panels. One of the most solid and straight trucks I have seen in a while. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2429814881 |
The truck looks great! I really like the bright yellow myself. What are you going to do about the rocker boxes? Do you already have a donor. I think WES was talking about reproducing those if he doesn't already! Congrats! It's nice when ebay stuff ends up close to home eh? Good luck with the blazer and keep us post on any updates or changes!!
|
Congrats. I know you've been wanting a Blazer for a long time. Take some photos when you pick it up!
|
That's a lot of Blazer for that price. Congrats!
|
I will get some better pics soon. It does need tires though. Who has the best prices for 38-40 inch tires?
|
Are you looking for name brand tires? ProComp has AT's that are garanteed for 50,000 miles. 4wheelparts sells them. Pick up some 4x4 magazines and check out the ads. Also, sign up for 4wheelparts magazine/catalog - it's free!
You might also consider getting some lower gears than the 3.73's. |
I didn't realize Pro-comp has tires that big, I have been looking around. I will do the gears as well but I am spent for a little while.
|
No that I think about it, I believe that the ProComps may only go up to 37". I think someone mentioned some off brands that are dirt cheap! I've heard that Big O has some good deals too. Don't know how big they go though.
Check pirate4x4.com for used tires too! |
I wonder why the boxes are so gone, yet the rest of the body looks good?
Any evidence of previous repairs to the floors or other panels? Even my rust bucket '70 has rocker boxes. |
Yes, the floors have been replaced. Man this truck is sweet.
|
Are you just makin' us jealous or are you gonna post some more pics!!:D
|
Congrats, you owe me a ride, swing by and pick me up :p

Are you going to use it for a Daily Driver or
Weekend Wheeling? |

No Digicam so i'll have to get some developed and scanned. |
Congrats on the purchase.
What are your immediate plans for this Blazer? |
1. It needs tires.
2. Top comes off when this rain quits. 3. Maybe a 3/4 ton front, It already has one in the back. (id like to be able to have 1 spare tire that fits both axles). 4. Rocker Boxes. 5. Thats all I think. :D |
Where are you getting the rockerboxes?? What kind of process is it to put new rockerboxes in? Also what do they look like, as far as width and depth and height? I am just wondering how hard they would be to fabricate out of new metal since my husband is a welder. I thought I heard that WES of classicheartbeat.com was going to be working on getting some rockerboxes reproduced. Not sure if he has even started on that or not yet tho'.
|
We are awaiting the rocker box end caps (samples now) We even have pictures of them.
http://www.classicheartbeat.com/cata.../69-72%206.jpg They have the set of rocker boxes already. I shipped them together, so I am not sure why we don't have those pictures yet. WES www.ClassicHeartbeat.com |

|

|
if i were you, i would get a 3/4 ton frontend first thing, then wheels and tires afterwards.
