That's the first nice shape 73-74 GMC with chrome that I've seen... and WAAYYY too cheap! Wish I would have checked this site over the weekend. <bangs head>

It is funny that everyone acts like stuff is way to cheap once it sells on here. I have posted stuff on here at only half of what is worth and it sits. I generally leave it about 2 weeks. If it doesn't sell I put it on Ebay and it sells right away for double the price. Some just don't understand that a few of us sellers try and list stuff here at fair price to help board members out before putting it on Ebay. That way we help people get some parts they need and it helps us out not paying Ebay fees. If Tom's grille was WAAYY too cheap, what do you want to pay me for my nice chrome 73 GMC grille?

Oh no, I understand totally. I do the same thing, though as a hobby not a main income stream.

For a nice chrome '73-'74 grille, I'd expect 175-200 full retail on a used part. A great deal I'd grab it at $150 and under. I sold a plain gray one for that, not the chrome optioned one. And I want the waayy too cheap price or less! Now, that said... I'm still lurking my local yards. Simply mad that I missed a great deal on an early GMC tailgate band and early chrome grille in the same week. :waah:

It is very strange that the 73-74 GMC grilles don't actually sell for more. It is kind of like the 73-74 GMC tailgates. They are hard to come by but just don't seem to command much of a price. I have been sitting on a NOS painted 73 GMC grille just for this reason. It is hard to justify selling it when it isn't worth much! Hang onto it too long and they will be reproduced. Not long enough and can't get a decent price for them.

Any way you can send close up pics of the aluminum sections of the 77-80 grill u have left? My father in law really needs the correct grill for his truck for me to restore and set off the look of his 77 High Sierra front end! My email is gbodyparts1234@yahoo.com

I refinish a lot of scarce plastic parts so as long as the plastic isn't breaking down I can work with it.

If I'm not butting in line, would like to buy the grille for the '78 GMC. I believe the price is $100 plus $25 shipping, correct? From what I can see, it is all in tact, just needs some paint, correct?

Thanks, Tom and 1774btcrew for helping me find the grille. I also scored NOS blue floor mats in the plastic yesterday for $50, out my back door so I can just pick them up. Things are starting to come together. Big show on Wednesday. I will have to show with a tooth missing out of my old grille but things are never perfect. Blue Ribbon Concours - invitation only, my first year, Iola, WI. FYI 2016 theme: Year of the Truck! (I may have a shot at getting on the promo poster for that one....)
