Need some assistance picking a color scheme (again)

71 Chevy SWB, 1/2 ton, 2WD, 402

Option 1: I was set on two-tone deluxe in ochre/white. I have all the NOS moldings. The upside is I might like it a bit more, though I think I'd want to drop the frame, because to me it looks much better. The downsides are is the cost is 15% more the alternative (below). I'd also need to drill for the clips and such. And most of all, those moldings have to line up perfectly. The suspension will be new regardless.

Option 2: Then there's the Ochre with the white top. This would match the SPID, though I may want to add tailgate molding only. I don't necessarily have to lower it, because I like both stances. I'd have to sell my moldings, but that's not a big deal. I have the stainless steel window frames and the paint separator.

Pictures are below. The first is almost like cheatin. Looks flawless and in a showroom. Anyway, which would you choose if you "could afford" both? SS is not allowed to post, you ochre-hating *%$*$......:metal:

What do you figure that drop is for the above two-tone? Again, that image is like cheating. If I knew for certain my build would look that good, no question, option 1. He's a member here. Not sure who.

Probably 5/7

My advice is to go ahead and do it the way you want it, you aren't going to be satisfied having "most" of what you want.

I've been thinking it might be nice to have a black bed. That 2-tone does. Wonder what it is, Black satin? I don't imagine it's a spray-in bed liner.

I would opt for option #1 also if those are the colors you want. Looks great. Sprayed in bed liner too.

I like the cleaner look of option #2

One looks great. Two isn't a combo I think I've seen before, and I really like that one ... If I was doing it I would go with option two. And if down the road I wanted to get a little fancier I could easily change to option one.

And as an aside I would not go with those wheels ... ever. Way too many cars, trucks, and everything in between go with those. Id go with some new slotted mags, or some original style torq thrusts (TTO's) or even white steelies with small caps. LOL, there ya go, I just built your truck my way

there both nice. but in my IMO. I would go with option TWO.

I know that option 1 was the more expensive and deluxe option but for some reason I never liked the 2 rows of trim on the sides. Personally if you like Ochre I would go with option 1.

#2 with all the moldings :) (#2 is Rene's, one of my "aspirational" trucks...) Or solid ochre (last)

1
2 is too much Ochre. I should say 2 as I would buy the mouldings.....lol

I think you picked two great examples of the ochre/white paint schemes. Between the two options, I think option 1 edges the other out. Some colors look best in certain patterns.

Not to throw a slight wrench in the works, but; have you thought about the other paint scheme that had white below the lower belt moulding, no top moulding, and a white top? I don't recall seeing that version with ochre.

Best of luck with your decision!:metal:

#1, but needs different wheels. Bedliner is a good thing

Option #1

"Whichever you prefer, it's your truck" is way too easy, and you did ask for our opinions. Option 2 is nice & clean, but option 1 really pops, it's a sharper look IMO.

I'd go with option 2 and get it down lower.

I like both but prefer Option 1

X2 On option 2 and drop it lower.
Have fun with the decision tree , follow your gut and think how you'll feel walking
up to each option in a parking lot. All the Best , Dirk

I believe that's a pre-71 paint scheme. I really like it too. Especially in the light blue.

Who the heck owns that Chevy two-tone? I'm curious about the drop and the "bed-liner".

Rene (C10King) used to own that truck, at least that pic is from his garage. I believe it also had buddy buckets in parchment/houndstooth. The olive/white two tone in the corner of the pic is also a very nice truck, I think it too had TT2's and buckets/console when I saw it at Brothers years ago right after he sold it.

Rene, if you are reading this chime in
