Kents 62 knock out knee knocker

I'm posting this for my pops. What started out as a "flip truck" and a "rat build" took a quick turn. Having fallen in love with these ugly trucks It wasn't as easy to let go of. He acquired the truck in a trade and decided to build it for a fast flip. He decided to fix the rust and 200 hours later it has all new everything.

The frame matched the cab pretty well. It was pretty nasty so it was sent out for blasting and then base and cleared

what rot was in the frame was removed and repaired. which you will see later was then removed later haha.

He based and cleared the frame it looks killer at this point haha

the stock dash was yanked and a 59 impala dash was then fitted into the truck. which looks like an easy fit.... well its not. But it is so worth the pain

The roof on the 62 had too many pin holes for his liking. lucky enough the roof that came on the bbw donor panel was rust free.

a girls gotta run, steer, and stop. so we fitted it with an LS.

broke out the tube bender and made a mount for the 49 chevy tank

The underside and the firewall were cleaned up

gas tank mounts removed and we reinforced the rear cab pan

now that the firewall was smoothed out and the bottom as well the fun starts

the bottom painted black and the cab got another coat of primer

What year is the frame? A 62 should've had the torsion bar front and "X frame"
And yours looks like a 63-66 frame Wade |

Ya we switched over to a 66 frame. the X is just too much of a pain in the ass.
I will grab a few more piks of the gas tank install here in a bit. |
