About the Product:
Our New 2mm Vibrodamping Material-Black uses mass loading to lower panel resonance and absorb structural vibrations, converting them into low level heat. Stop those nasty rattles, eliminate road and outside noise, insulate your vehicle and dramatically improve the sound of your car audio stereo system. Our vibration damping products are a polymeric based damping material with a supercharged adhesive. With an Aluminum surface and a unique military-grade composition, it has been proven to be extremely efficient at the conversion of vibration to thermal energy. Silent Coat is very flexible which is very important to the installer, as it allows it to properly adhere to a contoured panel. This product can be installed anywhere in your vehicle, but is mainly installed within door panels both inner and outer and roof. We just finished damping this 79 C10 truck.
This truck was sound damped with 4mm on the firewall for additional heat resistance and 2mm everywhere else.

On this truck we used 3/4 of a box of the 4mm for the firewall and trany hump and 1 1/2 boxes of the 2mm. The 2mm Boxes cover 21.5 SQFT each and the 4mm covers 15.36 SQFT. If you were doing a cab then 2 boxes of 2mm would cover you. I would probably buy an extra box that way you could damp the doors also.
