Upper control arm shaft

I pulled off the upper control arm shafts on my 65 c10, because they felt loose and the mounting holes seemed larger than the studs coming through the frame. I figured they were worn out just like everything else on my old pickup. So i ordered new ones and they are the exact same size and bolt up just as loose and the nuts they sent with the new one thread on perfectly. I figure maybe i am missing something - i have a round disc and 3 horseshoe shaped shims and the control arm shaft. Is there something else that goes in there to tighten everything up?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Re: Upper control arm shaft

When you pull the nut up tight it will all be good. The reason for the size of the holes is to allow for the angle to change on the shaft when they align the front end. If the bolts were a snug fit then you would not be able to align it. You have all the parts you need.

Ok guys it goes round convex washer, then shims, then round spacer, control arm shaft and then nut. Is thus correct? On lmc doagram it shows a squate spacer type thing on there and i dont have those. Does the round flat spacer take the place of that. Truck drove crappy to begin with and i didnt really have something decent to go by.

Thanks

those shims dont go in between those concaved spacers. go to the outside. clsest to the control arm shaft.

Thanks and i appreciate it. I use a washer in place of the spacer in the above pic. Will that be an issue??
