Heavy Hauler transmission question

so I am looking at purchasing a early to mid 80's WHITE Tilt cab cab over with a perfect running 6V92TA in it to repower my 69 GMC 5500, what I am wondering is how hard is it to convert the remotely shifted Fuller T-11607A transmission to a direct shift?

the shifter is easy to change just get a shifter out of a conventional, unbolt 4 bolts and bolt the new one in. but I sure don't see how you are going to get a 6v92 ta to fit in a 5500.

Through creative fabrication, I'd prefer a 4-71T but finding one in my area that's not locked up is exceedingly hard. The truck will just be a glorified 1t basically, its heavy hauling days are over. It will be built to pull a gooseneck trailer/car hauler

Thank you, but not what I was hoping for, got 3 trucks with big Spicer 5 speeds.. ...need parts for one and would like to have an aux 3or 4 speed for another ....or a smaller fuller.

I feel ya. If it had a Aux transmission I would probably keep it a gasser, hell I may anyway. A 383 would motirvate it pretty well, also know where a 427 is.....

also remember you will need to change rear end ratio. years ago had a Ln-800 ford with a 391v8 &5+2, change it to a 671& 5 spd over, top speed was 41 miles an hour.in hi range.:waah:

Same reason my C60 with a 427 is staying a gasser.....and it STILL will likely be a 50 ish mph kind of deal.
