I know you have said you have installed grounds BUT ground wires for these trucks are very important being our trucks have a lot of under body rust to them. Try going over the grounds one more time as sometimes we miss things. Good Luck. Others might have more to add hopefully you will get your answer!

Okay thank you, how many body to frame grounds do you think there should be on the truck?

If I recall 5 of them for V8. Here's the locations

1 & 2 Fire wall to Valve Covers (6 cyl only One used)
3rd. Front Pass side inner fender (frame to inner lower fender well)
4th. Under pass door about 1/2 way too middle of door
5th. Pass side at rear tire location area

Most are mounted from body panels to frame

Each Light needs to be grounded so look carefully at each lights connections. Being a Electrician I know I can hold any one bare power wire all day long and NOT get shocked, But when you put the ground wire in or hooked up at that point you will get Shocked believe me I know. The ground wire makes a complete circuit.

Re: Brake light problems

The brake light/tail light wire should be grounded by the taillight housing right?

They should be. All lights have a ground wire coming off/out of the light housing, a ground wire might be a short wire or like the front lights they connect one to the other and then go to ground.

Okay cool thanks for all the help, i just got them working i had a ground strap broken on passenger side next to the body mount which i replaced with an extra ground strap i had laying around and then i replaced another ground wire that someone had made out of a 18-20 gauge wire and wrapped it around the exhaust mount and the frame and made a new ground with a 12 gauge wire and some round terminals and bolted them to the frame and rear bed support and now their both working just fine.
