Barrett Jackson

The Barrett Jackson Auction is on Velocity channel. Already have seen three trucks go through for Moocho Moola

Yea. I just looked at the list. Most all of them over 20k and several over 30. These trucks definitely are becoming more sought after each year. I'm heading to Scottsdale with a couple friends later this week. Probably check out Barrett, and maybe some of the others too

this one caught my eye - some things I don't like (like the whole interior, and I doubt it's a real super based on a few tell tale signs) but what I DO like is that it was claimed as an original 565 truck (i.e. redone in original black top/hugger orange color combo). Stick some white steelies and PO3s on there and THEN ya GOT somethin! (it sold for just over $36K). And, for what it's worth, the announcers should spend a little time on this website when they get a chance, the mis-information they quack is often overwhelming... Where's that Magnante guy when ya need him?!? Would want to see a SPID to confirm, and the only picture close to it looks like it's just laying there in the glovebox, barely attached. Dash is black, ugh... but if the color combo is original, thatsa nice.

Man there must be some really disappointed sellers tonite . Seen some really decent 67-72 go for cheap and a few square bodies go for dirt cheap .

The sad thing is that morons willing to pay that kind of money for these trucks make it much more difficult for those of us who own not to collect but to drive/use these trucks.

How about that 72 short bed with the 67 front clip that went for $17,500?

I guess the lesson whether purchasing a entry level driver or a high end driver - before buying ... do your research. :uhmk:

Yup. Those same morons end up needing to sell for whatever reason and those same trucks come back on the market again with too high a price. Moron paid 20k too much and now thinks its worth 20k more than it is.

That was one of the c10s I saw . Although front end shouldn't have been changed I thought it would go higher than that . after reading first few posts in this thread I turned it on ... that one at 17 was highest I saw ... saw about 7 c10s (very nice squarebody too ) in the back end of program . All went for about 9-10k average . And they were nice trucks . Someone got a good deal on the ones I saw ... on cl they'd be listed at 20-30k lmao .

The purple one (yea it was purple) went for 10k ... that was a really nice truck (aside from the purple )

Few stepsides I saw went pretty cheap .... again I'm comparing to what I see on cl and what people are ASKING .

What the purple truck a big block?

I'm not even going to touch the "people who pay more for a truck than my cousin Bubba is an idiot" comments. The market is what the market is, and you can't tell how highly a truck is restored on TV (they all look pretty good, but they're really nowhere near it).

At the end of the day people are still paying $25K for trucks that cost $40K to restore. The occasional $40K truck you see sell cost $75K to restore. Some of you guys act like someone threw an Earl Scheib paint job on a $7500 CST and sold it for $25K. Ain't happening.

No one's getting rich restoring 67-72 pickups. Just the guys hoarding NOS parts.

Agree with you ...... it almost (if u have a fist full of cash) seems like it's a buyers market (at an auction)

Since I started this thread I'l throw in my 2 cents worth. I put it up to let guys here who may not know about the auction to ogle at some nice trucks . I didn't mean it to get to a bashing and "he paid too much" and etc. Just enjoy the free parade of nice old iron. If a guy or gal "paid too much" it is because they wanted it. Nuff said.

There is a huge local car show/gathering on Saturday at the Home Depot Center. Ask a local for direction. Great event.

There are exceptions to every statement but, my opinion, you are right on target.

And another point - some people (me included) are too old to wait 10 years for the dream deal to materialize. If you like it and can afford it, you better buy it.

White's not my color of choice but for a factory big-block Super shortbed? 50K seems right to me.
