1968 c10 build
2 Attachment(s)
I wanted to share my build that i have been doing for about a year now. i am finally taking the next step to transform my truck into the truck i have always wanted.
right now the truck has a 396 from a 1969 chevelle that i will be taking out to put a junk yard LS and a 4l80e. the person before me heated the coils to get the drop in it and i will be replacing it with air bags that i am currently looking for. I will be building a system that has a leveling valves in it that i will design from my days of driving semis. i recently bought a disc brake conversion from performance online and they were really great to deal with. I opted for the smaller booster so i would have great clearance around the new motor. the kit comes with new ball joint, tie rods and drop spindles as well. I am hoping the images load as i am new to posting in the forum |

Truck looks good! Welcome to the board from another Iowa boy. Heated coils never seem to work out. You can successfully cut a coil off of the bottom of the fronts and that will give you about 2-2 1/2 inches drop but you cant cut the rears because they are tapered top & bottom.... Bags would be the way to go if you can afford them. LockDoc |

Re: 1968 c10 build
I haven't posted on here much but I am waiting for mother nature to be a little nicer to us here in Iowa.
So far I have: Front disc brake kit with new drop spindles and all the hardware to do the steering system. New front lower control arms all new interior including new seat that I found to be NOS at the dealership I work at. New heater controls and a lot more small stuff I have been able to pick up this winter I am hoping this weekend I am able to get the old girl out of storage and back home to be taken apart to start her rebuild. |

got some work done on my truck the past few days and managed to get the front end stripped and ready for the new parts to go in.

Re: 1968 c10 build
well I got all the air ride in over the last few weeks and will post some pictures hopefully this weekend. I am currently working on getting the tank and compressors mounted. I am currently also working on getting a set of spacers for the rear since the wheels are not sitting right.
other project that i started on the truck was the interior and getting the seat and carpet in which i didn't take pictures of yet but i should probably be better at documenting this project a little better. |
