'68 C10 with 454 and headers

I have a '68 C10 that has a 454 in it now. The guy who built it put a set of headers on it but had to dang near pinch the #1 exhaust tube down flat. It's not completely pinched close buy, it's close and that bothers me. Also, the hang super low and my truck sits low with a static drop. Not sure of the drop, I'm thinking 4/6 or 5/7. I need some ideas for headers hat fit or otherwise, I'm going to go either a stock set of exhaust manifolds.

If that is a relatively stock engine, putting a set of manifolds would be just fine. 2.5'' out of the manifolds into a single 3'' with a magnaflow. More than enough flow.

Sorry to jack the thread but what modifications if any are required to swap the 454 into a C10? I just got a 67 C10 roller today and was thinking about swapping the 454 into it from one of my old trucks

i used 68-71 chevelle mid length headers from ebay on mine, fit good, no hammering of pipes, just minor grinding of frame on pass side to fit

x2 sanderson bb8, make sure that you have the stock BB mounts and that they are in the correct position.

I need to snap some good pictures of mine and post them on here so as to really see what I have going on.

This has been covered many many times here. Sorry for the long link, it will take you to some threads.

I'm not far from you and used chevelle headers before in my '69 w/454. Let me know if I can help. I do agree w/manifolds if the motor is mild or close to stock. Would be a very cheap and easy fix.

Cool, yes, we're very close. I'm actually in Gravel Ridge.
