Heater core with A/C question

I am assembling my heater box with A/C and am wondering if there is any foam strips that go on the heater core or the box in the area where the core touches the box I don't remember if there was anything when I disassembled the old one. I am using a new aluminum heater core and was thinking there should be something between the aluminum core and metal piece it rest on in the box

Thanks
John

I think there is strip caulk around the edge of the heater core.

I only know of a gasket between the heater box and firewall. That's how I found it, but the heater core was replaced once before.

Re: Heater core with A/C question

I always use gum cord with these aluminum heater cores as they have more of a gap than the original Harrison heater cores had. If you look at the 5:25 mark on my video you can see some of the gum cord as I mentioned it while describing what was done to the heater box.https://youtu.be/F-07ekAClrM
