This time of year and being out in the cold dry weather it's a regular use product for cold dry cracked hands to keep your hands and feet moisturized to prevent cracking dry skin softer , The Bag balm also has some antiseptic properties . Originally designed to treat a Dairy cows teats while milking .:chevy:

We sold some veterinary supplies, we had bag balm....she didn't know what it was for...I told her, then I told her that some people use it too...........:D

As a kid growing up my mom would smear bag balm on us for what ever ailed us. But we used to run when she brought out the mercurichrome. Remember the orange stuff that burned worse than the cut ?

I remember that very well, that and the original Listerene. That stuff was awful!

Can't forget Corn Husker's Lotion. That's the first one I recall using.

When I worked with the concrete every day, I always had a can of Bag Balm in my trowel bucket. Didn't really know any finishers that didn't have at least something similar.

Bag Balm isn't just for hands.....When I was rowing a lot it was good for lubing the oar leathers (cow hide,) oar locks in the sockets, blisters, and seat tracks.
It's the "duct tape" of skin care!

Bag Balm all the way. My in-laws introduced me to that concoction and boy does it work. Hard to find sometimes, but my feet need that lotion from time to time.

Bag balm: Haven't thought of it in years. As a kid in the '50s, my folks milked about a dozen cows====by hand, in a rickety old drafty barn, dirt floor, no heat before daylight, and finish before school bus time. In winter, we used bag balm when we milked, or if not, the cows teats would chap, and crack. Was good for our hands too, but better wash good before school, or it could be smelled from across the room.

We milked, carried it to house porch, run it threw the separator, sold the cream, and carried the skimmed milk back to barn, and bucket fed the calves, and gave the rest to the hogs.
