'66 SB Fleetside BBW "Lucky"
 

Well, I'm back in the saddle again! I took a little break and haven't had an old Chevy pickup for about 6 years or so. My wife and I recently got into the whole vintage camp trailer scene and it didn't take long for me to carve out an excuse for needing something cool to pull our trailers (yes, that was plural. lol) around. I decided this time around that I had to have a '64-'66 BBW Short Fleet so that's what I started looking for. I didn't want to have to worry about someone else's shoddy work so I wanted an untouched clean slate. There were several I was bouncing back and forth on but this one won out just because of the price. It's a '66 that I bought today from a guy in Oklahoma. I will be having it shipped out to me here in Oregon and will be using this as my build thread. It will be undergoing a total nut-and-bolt rebuild. I decided to call it "Lucky" because the guy that was selling it said if it didn't sell pretty soon, he was going to part it out.

I just got my 66 SWB BBW today also. It's a little rougher than yours but thats ok when they get torn down anyway.

Cool truck. Is it a 66 with 64 emblems on the fenders? Just asking cause I'm building a 64 just like it. Thanks

Yes. My assumption is that somebody put '64 fenders on it at some point.

You should have moved back to America. lol I have lived here about 10 years or so but have lived in Spokane, Post Falls, Boise and Portland. I'll die here for sure. Heres a video I made when I got the truck home. I'm getting it off the trailer Friday and want to shoot a coat of sealer on it for a little more protection until I get it painted in a few years. (Hopefully less)

I grew up in Vale (over by Ontario) so I know EXACTLY what you're talking about! If Oregon can't keep Kate Brown under control, I might be Idaho-bound after all!

Great finds at the swap meet. I'm looking forward to your build. I just moved to Tucson from Portland and missed the swap meet this year for the first time in years.

Not at all! That's why we moved down here. We still come north for the summer.
