P30 RV with Truck Cab

3 Attachment(s)
So there is a low mileage P30 RV for sale locally low miles. It has a 454 and auto trans, and what appear to be 10 lug hubs with a double rear tandom axles. The body is damaged by water, could I place a pickup truck cab and front end on it? (Straight swap from a 86 crew cab?) I don't want to just throw my money away buying an RV that I can't convert. It is at an insurance auction lot so I can't just go in to look at it when I want.

Does anyone have any info on the chassis under these? Are they similar to the 1 ton trucks.
The first pic is the RV I'm looking at.

The second pic is what had me thinking these may share the same dimensions on the chassis?

The 3rd pic is from the fast and furious movie and this would be my goal. Yea I would have a flatbed on it.

10 lug would be a 3500hd chassie type frame is i had to guess with out seeing it .

prob a solid drop beam axle front . rear axle is a tag only not a drive axle .

and yes industry std is 34" frame rails width so you could drop a cab on it but need to position your own mounts .

A "P" chassie is a forward steer.Steering shaft is nearly straight up.
A "C" or "K" chassie has the steering gear that is leaning farther back.
You would have to do a lot of frontend changes to make it work with a pick-up cab.
A COE type cab would fit much better!

Yea I can see from the pictures it looks the drivers seat is positioned above the steer axle and the engine is between the front seats. So my best bet would be to let it go from the sounds of it. I guess I will continue my medium duty truck search. Thanks for the info guys.

Re: P30 RV with Truck Cab

the frame will be straight back from the front suspension. it won't dip where a crewcab frame dips. you'll have to put some sort of bodylift on it, or graft the crewcab frame in. it can be done, but not just a bolt on.
