window tinting
I am getting ready to replace the weatherstripping on my side windows, they were tinted about thirty years ago and the film has faded to a ugly purple, and is scratched badly.
I am going to attempt to re-tint them myself . Would it be easier to apply the film while i have the glass removed? it seems to me it would be easier working on a table instead of in the back of the truck. anyone have any recommendations on what brand, type, etc. to buy? |
Re: window tinting
I recommend 3M or Llumar. It is very easy to tint with the windows out. Use plenty of baby shampoo/water solution so you can move the tint around as needed, then squeegee out the solution. I have used precut tint kits before, it you can find one for your vehicle they are very nice to use. I like to sit my windows out in the sun for a few days if I have time. If not, be very careful putting them back in and avoid rolling them down for a few days.

Re: window tinting
one thing about tinting and then installing is damaging the tint when installing....my local tint guy won't do them unless in the vehicle
