vortec 5.7 and 1969 SM465
will 1999 vortec 5.7 mate directly SM465 trans from 69 c15 mate directly together? Do I need some sort of adapter? I would be replacing a 307 which i believe to be original to the 69 truck.
forgive me if I am not asking this question correctly as I have little experience in this arena... |

You will need a flywheel from a 86+ compatible with the one piece rear seal. (I think as I have not done this combo personally.)

Check the block and see if it has the boss cast in for your clutch linkage pivot

Here’s a pic of an 880 block I have setting for future use. Looks like maybe the boss is there, I don’t remember where the pivot ball mounts. I haven’t looked for one in a while, I’ll be running a hydraulic clutch when I put in the TKO.

I have a TBI 5.7 and had an SM465 (now have an AX15) in my CJ. later one piece rear main seal style flywheel. Pilot bushing. And clutch linkage. Novak adapters sells some different brackets for hydraulic slaves, perfect time to switch to a hydraulic external slave set-up. I made my own bracket
