LMC fender patch panels

Was wandering if anyone has used these lower front fender patches from LMC. Listed as item #1 under Steel Body Patch Panels here. http://www.lmctruck.com/icatalog/ca/full.aspx?Page=10
The catalog lists them as Chevy only under Applications. I emailed tech at LMC and they responded that if the catalog doesn’t list them for GMC they could not guarantee that they would even work for my propose.
I’m thinking that they will work but just don’t have the park lite hole punched that a GMC would need. I do not plan on needing to go that high on my fenders for what I need to patch.
What are some of you’ll thought? Thanks for the help.
My areas I need the patches for. Both sides are about the same.

I think they are just covering their ars and there wouldn't be an issue. And most certainly use as little as possible, that is one mistake I have seen over the years is guys using the whole patch on something where a few inches would have been plenty.

What you have there looks so small I am thinking you may even just fab it. If you don't have the knowledge in this that is a pretty nice start to learn.

The only difference I know of is that the GMC has the hole for the park light. I've seen a lot of GMC fenders that had the hole welded up to put on a Chevy and seen a few that had a hole cut for the park light on a GMC . 54 Fenders for either Chevy or GMC would be a different can of worms as each of those has it's own identity.

I agree, get up into solid metal and trim the fender and the patch to fit. Or find a donor fender to get the section out of. I've had a lot of fenders that were beat up around the headlight but would have been great patch donors.

Thanks fellows. That answered my ? quit well. I don't know much here but all I could think of with their answer was the fact that there is no park lite hole punched in it and the patches do extend up into that area. They made no reply as to what gauge the patch was.

I've got a parts trucks just for this reason. It's a 52 and mine is a 51. Should be close to the same metal used during that era. The only thing... that area on those fenders is worst then what I've got.

No, I don't have experience in this area working with sheet metal and have concerns of making that curled lip that's inside of these fenders. I was looking for an easy out to get that.

I agree, I've got to learn somewhere.

Now This; I LOVE LMC. I did not ask this to slander them in anyway. I know they have items I'm going to be getting from them. I love what they do. They truly help fellows like us out. It's just their reply to my ?'s I asked them. Could have been a bad rep, I've been there.

Hey, even I can do it. Here's a couple of pics of my '55 rear fender with its new bottom:

There you go, just as well finished on the inside as the outside.

I was just looking at that site yesterday looking for the rear part of the fender with the 4 bolt holes as my pass side is pretty rough. Seems they sell everything but that part
