Truck short bed same as Blazer?
Found someone selling a complete disassembled short bed from the 67 to 72. Inner fenders quarter panels tailgate and truck bed. Are these parts interchangeable with the first gen Blazer, or could they be cut down to make it so? I know the tailgate and probably the inner Fender Wells would be interchangeable I'm wondering about the other parts.

67 fenders/inner fenders wont fit 69-72 unless you change everything...fenders hood core support etc
tail gate will |
Re: Truck short bed same as Blazer?
Blazer is shorter than a C10 but you can use cuts from the C10 bed to make it work. I'm sure others will chime in.

So you would cut the quarters where it meets the doors the back end you leave as those two would be the same?

Re: Truck short bed same as Blazer?
Another difference are the bed pockets that a truck bedside will have, and a Blazer will not. I just replaced the bedside on my Blazer with the new repro Woodall part, and everything lined right up with no elongating bolt holes. Modifying a short bed bedside is doable, but a fair amount of metalworking skills are needed.

Never heard of woodall, how's the quality? I've heard the repop stuff is pretty tinny, if you stand on the tailgate you will bend it.

Re: Truck short bed same as Blazer?
The reproduction Blazer bedside is currently manufactured by only them. Woodall is solely a wholesaler, so if you see a new repro Blazer bedside, then they made it. Some have had reported fitment issues. Mine was spot on-far, far better than the smashed and rusted POS that was on it!
As for the tailgates, there are several manufacturers of them. Some are pure trash, some are OK. With that said, I opted for a mint used original just to ensure quality and fit. |
